A Margarita in the Raw

Here is a recipe for a non-alcoholic, yet still a quite ‘spirited’ healing version of the classic Margarita cocktail, which uses kombucha as the festive main ingredient.

Kombucha is from a magnificent probiotic rich brew fermented mushroom culture blended with team which has countless health benefits. Kombucha can be purchased in most grocery stores or home brewed.

Serves 2-3

A Margarita in the Raw


1  organic juiced lime

2-3 tablespoons  raw agave nectar or raw honey

1/4 tsp organic lime zest

2 cups organic raw kombucha (homemade or store bought)

1 cup ice

Optional – 1 cup organic tropical fruit such as mango, pineapple or passion fruit.


Blend all ingredients except the kombucha in a blender until slushy and smooth. Divide and pour kombucha into glasses, then add the blended mix to each and stir to combine.

Add ground Himalayan sea salt to the rim of your chilled glasses, garnish each with a wedge of lime and serve!
